Description
This is Market Research for Benefits Delivery Network (BDN) Payment System Technical Support Services. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is looking to obtain technical systems support for the operation and maintenance of the BDN Payment System located at the Hines Information Technology Center (ITC). This includes: Unix Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), maintenance and administration of Unix and Windows Tuxedo OLTP components, support of the interfaces between the VBA WEB Logic and Tuxedo environments, support for Unix systems, support and maintenance of the legacy BDN systems processed on the BULL and IBM mainframe environments, and support and administration for the middleware environment. This specifically entails all of the software associated with its Bull DPS9000/TA42 Virtual Machine Facility (VMF) mainframe, attached and associated peripherals, and communications processors, including its General Network Service Processor (GNSP), MainWay, and HyperChannel. This support shall include the standard software, specialized BULL proprietary developed software, user routines, interface code to other systems, and the General Comprehensive Operating System (GCOS) TCP/IP Enterprise Access (GTEA) module that resides in the Super Migration Gateway (SMGW) software. The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the tasks defined in the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS). The contractor MUST have direct access to BULL HN Information Systems and the Bull Technical Assistance Center for any required support for this effort. Bull HN Information Systems access shall include first level of software fixes, patches, updates and new releases of GCOS 8 software (approximately 60+ CLINs); GNSP software; Mainway software; and Bull TP8 software. Bull TAC access shall include telephone support; authorization with GCOS 8 software license agreement to remotely access BDN Test partition to upload/download software fixes; patches, new releases; agreement allows Bull to have TAC run systems diagnostics for any performance / capacity mainframe issues; degradation of system resources - memory; CPU internal service processors; system calls home for maintenance alerts; etc. This market research is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. Any contract that might be awarded based on information received or derived from this market research will be the outcome of the competitive process.
