Description
VA Project No 561-08-107 Renovate and Modernize the Inpatient Ward Hals and Floors Solicitation documents will be available electronically on or about Friday, Friday May 7, 2010 at the FedBizOpps website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov Award will be made on a competitive basis under Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) 14 to a responsible business responding to this solicitation. In accordance with P.L. 109-461, Veterans First Contracting Program, this acquisition is set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. The estimated price range for this project is $500,000 to $1,000,000. NAICS Code 238220 is applicable to this acquisition with a Business Size Standard of $14 million. NO HARD COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE RECOVERY ACT. THIS PROCUREMENT IS A 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES. 1.1STATEMENT OF BID ITEM(S) ITEM I, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems. The PM&R 13th floor renovation scope of work as indicated within the drawings is to include, but is not limited to, the gut renovation of the north west wing to provide an open gym for physical therapy, new patient restrooms, doctor offices, exam rooms, a waiting area, a housekeeping aid closet, as well as a soiled and clean utility room. This renovation includes the rearrangement of an existing smoke barrier that separates two existing smoke compartments. Floor finishes will include a rubber sheet flooring within the open gym, linoleum and carpeting in other areas. The ceiling within the open gym will be partially exposed to the deck above and otherwise suspended planes of acoustic ceiling tile. All other areas will be full acoustic ceiling tile except for patient toilets which are drywall ceilings. Millwork included within this scope of work will be limited to within patient toilets and a coffee kiosk in the waiting room. HVAC work will include, but is not limited to, renovation of existing fin tube radiator along perimeter, new ductwork branches and vav boxes within the renovation area, and maintenance work on an existing mechanical unit. Plumbing work is to include, but is not limited to, 3 hand wash stations within the open gym, 5 toilets, 1 urinal, 1 drinking fountain, 4 bathroom lavatories, and pipe relocation work. Sprinkler work will not be included within our scope of work. Electrical work is to include, but is not limited to, lighting within all rooms, relocation of speakers, outlets, data, floor mounted outlets within the open gym, hardwired sensor operated plumbing fixtures, daylight sensor dimming light to three separate lighting zones within the open gym, as well as integrating this renovation in to the existing BMS. A.Construction Phasing: Special construction phasing requirements will apply as more specifically shown in detail on the Drawings. Work in each phase must be completed prior to the commencement of the following phase. All work required to occur in occupied areas shall be scheduled in advance with the COTR and be performed after hours at no additional charge. B.Completion Time: All work in Phase 1 sub-phases A through C shall be completed in 390 calendar days. C.ALTERNATE NO.1: Omit the work associated with a toilet room and closet as identified on the drawings. D.ALTERNATE NO.2: Omit the work associated with Phase 1A, as shown on the drawings. E.ALTERNATE NO.3: Omit the work associated with the installation of floor recessed electrical outlets. Project to include wall outlets only. Any prospective SDVOSB contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov/, and the Vetbiz Registry at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/general_user/search/, in order to be eligible for award. The closing date and time for submission of bids will be contained in the solicitation. No paper copies will be issued. No telephone, facsimile, or written request will be accepted.
