Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees. This solicitation number is RFQ-1535882 and solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-39. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Office of Acquisitions, Station Support Simplified Acquisitions Branch on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) seeks to procure one (1) LEICA CM3050 S Cryostat stem with the following features and configuration: LEICA CM3050 S Cryostat with 1) Pre-configured systems, 2) motorized sectioning, 3) with specimen temperature control, 4) with knife holder CE for low profile disposable blades, and 5) 110 - 120V/ 60Hz. The Cryostat system must have the following distinctive features: - A spacious cryochamber for ease of use and large working area, - Convenient section thickness selection from outside the cryochamber with 0.5 - 300 micron thickness. This feature allows less exposure inside the chamber for the user, - Manual and motorized sectioning, - Cutting window ensures consistent precision section throughput with low sectioning speeds by allowing the sectioning speed to increase as sample returns to the next section position, - Section trim at 5, 15, 30, and 100 microns for consistent trimming of the tissue block before sectioning, - Dual compressor for cryochamber and specimen object temperature control for various sample selections and fast rate of cooling, - Specimen holder cools down to -50 or can be independently controlled by the users desired temperature use, - Safety CE knife holder with lateral displacement feature that utilize the holder without repositioning the blade within the knife holder, - The integrated anti roll glass guide produces precision sections and provides safety guide for the blade, - Interchangeable knife holder from disposable or standard knife use, - In compliance with the UL and CSA standards that ensure highest quality and reliability. Quotations must be good for 60 days after close of solicitation. Offeror must provide within its offer the number of days - not to exceed 90 - required to make delivery after receiving a purchase order from the buyer. Delivery point is NIH main campus, Bethesda, Maryland 20892. To be eligible for an award, offeror must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at website http:www.ccr.gov. The selected offeror must comply with the following commercial item Terms and Conditions, which are incorporated herein by reference: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, must be included with its offer; FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Condition Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
