Description
RECOVERY - THIS IS A PROJECT UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT.TAS: 14 1035:TAS RECOVERY South Slough Project (PMIS #152090) AMENDMENT NOTICE: This Amendment 0001 is to give the Government responses to question submitted by potential offerors to this Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, Solicitation no. Q9420101006, Boardwalk Materials, Lewis & Clark Historical National Park QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. QUESTION: Are the brackets you are looking for the kind that sink into a concrete foundation? Or rest on top of a previously made concrete foundation? ANSWER: These rest on top of previously made concrete foundations 2. QUESTION: Should we assume that all wood is to be either #2 and better Coastal Douglas Fir or Hem-Fir? ANSWER: Most of the wood locally will be one of these two. However, it is required to be spec #2 or better 3. QUESTION: Do we need to select for appearance? Is wane allowed? ANSWER: Spec #2 or better required, but a small amount of wane is acceptable. 4. QUESTION: Should this be rough or surfaced? (rough texture or smooth) ANSWER: Smooth Surfaced 5. QUESTION: For treated wood there are different use categories as defined by the American Wood Preservers Association. Will this material be in contact with the ground? Will any of it be used as posts in the ground? If no then your Use Category would be UC3B. If yes then you would need to treat all material in contact with the ground to UC4A. ANSWER: No wood should be in contact with the ground so all should be UC3B. 6. QUESTION: Are these the brackets you are looking for? (Simpson Strong Tie BC46 4x6 Post Cap/Base and ABU46Z 4x6 Uplift Post Base Z-MAX) ANSWER: Simpson Strong Tie ABU46Z and BC4 Cap/Base or equal 7. QUESTION: What is the weight/height capacity of your forklift for unloading? Would it handle typical ANSWER: If necessary, the forklift will be rented. The size and delivery time will be coordinated in advance. 8. QUESTION: How quickly after the solicitation date would you think an award will be made? Is this a project for this summer? ANSWER: Award is typically made within two weeks of receipt of quotations, but may be as long as 30 days. The project is scheduled to begin 1 July with delivery prior to that date. REMINDERS 1. Proposals are due no later than April 26, 2010 by 4:30 pm (PST), by fax, email or postal service. Proposals shall either be received at the contracting office or be post-marked by the post office no later than 4:30pm on April 26, 2010. 2. In order for your proposal to be considered "responsive" to the solicitation, you must adhere to the instructions and total request. 3. In order for your proposal to be considered "responsive" to the solicitation, you much also be actively registered in the following websites: a. (CCR) Central Contractor Registration - http://www.ccr.gov. This is required per clause 52.204-07. b. (ORCA) On-Line Representations and Certifications Application - http://orca.bpn.gov. This is where contractors will enter their small business representations and certifications. This is required per clause 52.204-08. Even though this solicitation is not a small business set-aside, all contractors are required to be registered regardless of business size. c. All else remains the same.
