- THIS CONTRACTING ACTION IS BEING OFFERED UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND RE-INVESTMENT ACT (ARRA). The Forest Service has a requirement for crushing and stockpiling gravel from the Big Creek gravel pit. The source of the material to be crushed is a Government-owned pit on the National Forest System land. This pit has been used before to produce crushed aggregate for road surfacing. The Quality control of all work performed to provide the end product is the Offeror's responsibility. The Government will inspect the work periodically to ensure quality is being met. Project Location: The Big Creek Gravel Pit is located on the Superior Ranger District, Lolo National Forest, Mineral County, Montana, on the Big Creek Road No.386, Forest Road No. 18654. No pre-quote Site Visit is scheduled, however, Offerors are encouraged to visit the site and review the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) provision #52.236-3, Site Investigation and Conditions Affecting the Work (Apr 1984). Failure of the Offeror to ascertain the nature, location, and conditions which affect the work will not relieve the Offeror from the resposibility for successfully performing the work without addtional expense to the Government. All responsible Offerors may submit a quote which will be considered by the Government, IAW FAR 4.1102(a), and prospective must be registered in CCR.
