Description
RECOVERY - The work to be completed under this contract will take place on two different trails:. a. Work on the Overwhich OHV trail route includes trail log out maintenance (done twice during performance period), reconstruction of existing drainage structures: rubber belting waterbars and leadoff ditches, and transportation of waterbars on the West Fork Ranger District, Bitterroot National Forest. The entire route accessing “Overwhich Falls” includes portions of three trails: #185, #182, #248. The total 15.2 miles of those existing routes will be logged out. Trail logging out includes clearing downed and leaning trees, cleaning existing drainage structures and removal of loose rock (12” size) and woody debris from the trail tread. Drainage reconstruction includes replacing 20 rubber belting waterbars and associated ditches. Transportation of waterbars from the trailhead to work sites is included in this project. b. Bass Day Use Trail 129, which is a combination of single track and old road routes, is managed as a single track, non-motorized trail on the Stevensville Ranger District, Bitterroot National Forest. Work consists of reconstructing five (5) turnpike sections, including re-crowning the surface w/ gravel; constructing 15 treated log waterbars; reconstructing 4 reinforced rolling dips and 150 lineal feet of tread reconstruction (24”). The contract does not require blasting on any trail routes.
