Description
SF-1449 Please complete and return checklist on page 5 along with pages 1-2 The United States Department of Agriculture,Animal Plant Health Inspection Services, Wildlife Services Facility in North and South Dakota intend to procure the following items: 001 - 85EA M4 Scare Away LP Gas Cannons (singles) • Self contained propane-powered cannon for outdoor use. • The propane cannons will be used to frighten birds from unharvested crops by self activating and emitting a loud blast. • Single-shot, with an electronic ignitor and a visible, external dial (gauge) which allows the user to adjust the predetermined time interval between each "blast" of the cannon. The cannon must attach to an external, portable propane tank. 002 - 85EA M4 Cannon Clock Timer • Timer which automatically shuts propane cannons on and off as determined by the user of the cannon. • The timer allows the user of the propane cannon to preselect the hours of the day when the cannon automatically starts and stops. Without a timer, the user of the propane cannon must physically turn the cannons on and off. This requires farmers to make at least two trips per day to the fields where the cannons are deployed. • Must be self-contained in a weather proof case, battery operated (single AA battery), must be able to use on the M-4 style propane cannon. These propane cannons emit a loud noise (blast) at predetermined intervals. Propane cannons are an important tool used to frighten birds from unharvested crops. North Dakota Wildlife Services temporarily loans propane cannons to farmers who use them as part of their bird harassment programs.
