- This is a sources sought notice only for market research purposes to identify interested contractors for the requirement detailed below. A formal Solicitation, with Performance Work Statements or Technical Exhibits is not available for review at this time. Information obtained from this sources sought notice may result in a future formal Request for Proposal. The Government reserves the right to set-aside any subsequent acquisition based upon known sources and/or responses to this synopsis. The Air Armament Center, 918 Air Armament Systems Group (918 ARSG), Eglin AFB FL is conducting research to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience needed to develop and integrate a qualified smart rack capability for Navy and Air Force miniature munitions. This smart rack capability must be backwards compatible with the current Small Diameter Bomb Increment I (SDB I) weapon system, the pending Small Diameter Bomb Increment II (SDB II) weapon system and have potential for use on future miniature munitions that may be developed. Contract activities will result in the design, test, integration, manufacture, and delivery of a smart rack capable of 4-place carriage of 250-pound class weapons and able to be carried both internally and externally. The procurement potential is for approximately 1,300 units. Test assets to be delivered no later than calendar year 2013, and production assets are estimated to begin in calendar year 2016. Aircraft platforms include but are not limited to F-35 A/B/C, F-22, F/A-18 E/F, F-16, F-15E, B-1, B-2, and B-52. Source must have SECRET facility clearance and personnel cleared to handle SECRET data. Only sources that meet the description of this requirement need to respond. Sources responding to this announcement should indicate their business size in accordance with the size standard; ensure that the company name, address, a point of contact with email address and telephone number, Federal CAGE Code, and Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number are included in the information. This is a Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal. No solicitation is being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Participation in this sources sought synopsis is strictly voluntary and no cost or obligation shall be incurred by the Government. All interested parties should submit information that explicitly demonstrates capabilities and expertise related to this effort as well as the information identified above.
