- FalconSAT 3 Ground Station: Sole Source. The solicitation number is FA8601-10-T-0167. The NAICS Code is 334220. The size standard is 750 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Front Range Aerospace Inc, Colorado Springs, CO. The intent of the requirement is to plan, design, and install a FalconSat 3 Ground Station at Air Force Institute Technology (AFIT). The contractor will train AFIT personnel on the use of this ground station and support future development of AFIT capability to communicate with planned space experiments and satellites. This requirement is highly complex and requires a company with experience in related problems. Front Range Aerospace has the unique knowledge, experience and expertise that are essential in the construction of a ground station at AFIT. The ground station will enable communication with FalconSAT 3 to support USAFA, NASA, and AFIT space experiments and satellites. The services will be performance at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
