- Description
- The Cold Vault Storage HVAC system at the Springfield Armory, in Springfield MA, is currently undergoing an upgrade via contract C1930091003. The National Park Service, Northeast Region Philadelphia intends to enter into negotiations with UGI HVAC Enterprises, Inc (doing business as Thermmax Scientific Products) of Colmar, PA to modify contract C1930091003. This modification will direct the contractor to (1) change original proposed vault orientation within the room and rotate the vault so that the axis is north/south; (2) add 6' by 9.3' vestibule; (3) reposition ramp to outside of vestibule; (4) install desiccant dryers and refrigeration equipment to maintain a relative humidity (RH) of 45% 3% inside the vault; and (5) change the temperature and RH monitoring system. Negotiations will be conducted on a sole source basis with Thermmax. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate this requirement under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any and all responses must be received within 15 days of this synopsis notice. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this synopsis is solely within the discretion of the Government.
