- This project involves stabilization of the Mill Creek Road, 2N10. Stabilization includes road reconditioning, construction of various subsurface drainage structures, and the addition of aggregate base course, and 2 short sections of asphalt paving. Total length of road receiving surface treatment is 4.8 miles. Of this, 4.0 miles will be improved on the west end of 2N10 from the intersection to Camp Cedar Lake to the intersection of 2N11. On the east end of 2N10, 0.8 miles will be improved from the end of the road to the ridge top approximately 0.2 miles south of the intersection with 2N10E. Rock source may be from commercial sources certified to be weed free. Contract time will be 60 calendar days and the estimated start date is September 7, 2010. Estimated price of the project is between $500,00 and $1,000,000. Location: From the intersection of State Highway 18 and San Bernardino County Tulip Lane in Big Bear, California, proceed south on Tulip Lane approximately 0.4 miles to the intersection of 2N10 Mill Creek Road. The beginning of work is at the end of the paved section, approximately 0.8 miles from the intersection of Tulip Lane. There is a tentative prebid site visit for May 4, 2010, 10 a.m. Meet at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area off the south side of Mill Creek Road in the City of Big Bear Lake, just east of the intersection of Mill Creek Road and Tulip Ln. To get there take Hwy 18 (Big Bear Blvd) to Mill Creek Rd, turn south (only option), follow Mill Creek Rd about 0.3 mi to Aspen Glen Picnic Area, on the left (south) side of the road. A sign, small parking lot, and day use area is clearly visible from Mill Creek Road. Please review the solicitation for any changes to this meeting.
