- Sole Source for Thermometrics Corporation RTD Temperature Sensor The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA/OAR/ARL/ATDD, plans to negotiate on a sole source basis, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, with Thermometrics Corporation to provide two hundred and three (203) Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD), P/N R032-00000022. Our requirements for ambient temperature include the following: A platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) mechanically designed to withstand extreme environments with a moisture proof seal (a Thermometric proprietary design). The PRT element is 100 ohm ±0.4% @ 0°C class A with a Temperature Coefficient of 0.00385 (IEC 751). The combination of the element and the physical package provide an extremely low response time. These temperature sensors, when packaged in sets of three, must maintain an accuracy of ± 0.3°C in all conditions from -60.0°C to 60.0°C. The environmentally stable cable provided is 15 feet long, four 22 awg conductors with shield and drain. The temperature sensors must be lot stamped and manufactured to the International Temperature Scale ITS-1990 and traceable to NIST through primary and secondary calibration standards. (A drawing of our requirement can be provided upon request.) This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All firms responding must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). NAICS code is 334512, small business size standard is 500 employees, applies to the procurement. The following provisions and/or clauses apply to this acquisition. Provision 52.212.3, Offeror Representations and Certifications, must be submitted with your offer. If offering an equal product, provide sufficient technical/descriptive product literature for technical evaluation. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the Agency. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required system. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible, responsive offeror who can meet specific requirements and is most advantageous to the Government considering price and other price related factors. Telephone requests will not be honored. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. No written solicitation will be issued.
