Description
The Navy is currently in need of Physicians specializing in General Surgery, Gynecological Oncology, Hematology and Medical Oncology, Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatric Allergy, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Pediatric Infectious Disease, Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Pulmonary Disease, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Perinatology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Plastic and Reconstruction, Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry, Pulmonary Disease, Reproductive Endocrinology, Rheumatologic Disease, Sports Medicine, Trauma Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. In addition, the large number of upcoming deployments may require support from the following Physician specialties: Allergy and Immunology, Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Colon and Rectal Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, Interventional and Non-Interventional Diagnostic Radiology, Emergency Care, Endocrinology, Family Medicine with Obstetrics, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Hospitalist, Hypertension and Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Intensivist, Internal Medicine, Neurological Surgery, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Occupational/Environmental Medicine, Oral Surgery, Medical Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, and Radiation Therapy. Some Navy hospitals may also have a need for primary care specialties, including pediatrics, internal medicine, and family practice physicians. Naval Medical Logistics Command, the medical services contracting office for Navy Medicine is exploring the possibility of negotiating Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) with hospitals, institutions, universities, group practices, and other businesses local to the area where a Naval Hospital exists that have excess capacity to provide highly specialized Physician services to the Navy.
