Description
RECOVERY SUBSONIC ROTARY WING TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT-CONTRACT NUMBERNNA09DA55C-RECOVERY TASK ORDER 1 -TILT ROTOR TEST RIG. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FORINFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO BELL TEXTRONHELICOPTER COMPANY, UNDER CONTRACT NUMBER NNA09DA55C FOR SUPPORT AT AMES RESEARCH CENTER(ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFET FIELD, CA. THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY ANDREINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009.ARC intends to issue Recovery Task Order 1, titled Tilt Rotor Test Rig Development. TaskOrder 1 supports NASA Recovery Act work sponsored by the Aeronautics Research MissionDirectorate.The purpose of the task is for the design, development and delivery to NASA Ames ResearchCenter a Tiltrotor Test Rig (TTR) for use at the NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) windtunnel test facility. The TTR shall enable testing single, approximately 25-ft diameterrotors, in the 40 by 80 Foot Wind Tunnel and 40-ft diameter rotors in the 80 by 120 FootWind Tunnel. The TTR will enable rotor operation in hover, edgewise, conversion, andairplane modes through wind tunnel turntable rotation, to the maximum airspeeds in eachtest section. The result of this task will enable next generation vertical lift aircraftwith substantial performance and productivity improvements.This task will be funded by the Recovery Act. A contract modification will be issued tofully fund Recovery Task Order 1. The SUBSONIC ROTARY WING TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT contract number NNA09DA55C was made on acompetitive basis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal. This announcement is forinformational purposes only.
