- Description
- NASA/GSFC will negotiate a sub-task order with Northrop Grumman TASC to supportscientists in their efforts to simulate the impact of current and projected globalcommercial aviation emissions on climate. This research effort will be performed underexisting Task Order NNG06HN01D which is indefinite-quantity, indefinite delivery. Thegoal of this Sub-Task Order is to research the sensitivity of atmospheric ozone, methane, and the atmospheric thermal radiation balance to aircraft exhaust emissions of nitrogenoxides and water vapor. Northrop Grumman shall complete baseline and perturbationsimulations of chemical transport model. Once initial test model runs are validated, thecontractor shall perform simulations with projected aircraft emissions and assist GSFC asneeded in the assessment of the climate impact of these emissions on atmospheric ozone, methane, and thermal radiation balance. The existing Task Order is a Cost-Plus-Award-Feearrangement awarded to Northrop Grumman 10/2005. This notice is for informationalpurposes only.
