- Description
- 1. The 670 Aeronautical Systems Squadron (670 AESS), Battlefield Airmen program office, is seeking sources for those who can deliver the following items: • Four (4) complete virtual reality parachute descent training simulator (PARASIM) systems. Systems must: o Simulate parachute release and malfunctions o Suspend the parachute trainee in a harness with a control line for the parachutist to operate o Sense the parachutist's actions, force, head motion and body position(s) as input signals o Provide a pictorial display of three dimensional representations of other parachutists in the vicinity as well as objects on the ground such as buildings, vegetation, roads, etc. for the parachutist to observe and avoid to provide a simulated landing in a desirable spot o Provide instructors with the capability to provide control signals for varying flight conditions as represented in the pictorial display • Nineteen (19) Windows PARASIM upgrades from standard basic DOS PARASIM (Part # DOS/2000 PCCTS-4-WPSUO) • Installation at seventeen (17) CONUS sites • Nine (9) Snap-Fit Rack-Based Suspension Frames (Part # PCCTS-4-SRSF) • Twelve (12) Riser Sensors (Part # PCCTS-4-DRFSHDS) • Sixteen (16) Helmet Mounts (Part # PCCTS-4-ECHMD) • Seven (7) Manual Ripcords (Part # PCCTS-4-AADMO) 2. This is a request for information (RFI) / SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is not a solicitation (Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. The purpose of this request for information is in support of market research being conducted by the 670 AESS to identify potential sources and gather information on current capabilities within the market. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited hereunder. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party's expense. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Proprietary information or trade secrets should be clearly identified. 3.
