- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management has a requirement for a stewardship project. Stewardship contracting allows the BLM to implement comprehensive restoration goals on a designated landscape by incorporating treatment objectives for multiple resources such as forest health, fire hazard reduction, wildlife, and aquatic habitat under one stewardship contract. Stewardship contracts allow the BLM to apply the value of commercial products to be removed towards the non-commercial work components in the contract. This provides another tool for accomplishing high cost thinning and non-commercial material removal.The purpose of this contract is to provide a combination of hardwood restoration and meadow enhancement involving the removal of ponderosa pine that has encroached into the hardwood stands and meadows. Hardwood species include bur oak, iron wood, aspen, birch, and cottonwood. Project is located within the Fort Meade Recreation Area and is at 3700 feet elevation with slopes ranging from 0% to 25%. Location 1.5 miles southeast of Sturgis, South Dakota- Meade County The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 115310. This small business size standard is $7.0 million. This solicitation will be a total small business set-aside. All reasonable small business sources may submit a quote. The Solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be available on or around April 6, 2010 at https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued. The receipt of quotes is tentatively scheduled for April 27, 2010.
