Description
Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting this construction requirement. The construction need is relative to Project No. 851CM2043 entitled Houston National Cemetery Phase 4 Expansion and Cemetery Improvements, located in Houston, Texas. This project will develop approximately 34 acres of land into burial sections, including; detention ponds, general construction, building demolition, clearing and grubbing, alterations, roads, paving, walks, site furnishings, signage, grading, drainage, irrigation, mechanical and electrical work, earthwork, landscaping, utility systems, upgrades to existing electrical distribution system, repairs to existing roads, curbs and gutters, dredging of existing detention ponds, 18,866 double-depth concrete crypts, 216 traditional gravesites, 5,750 columbaria niches, one committal service shelter, renovation of existing maintenance and administration buildings, new public information center and public restroom, 2 new maintenance storage buildings for Phase 4 Expansion and Cemetery Improvements at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas. The estimated cost range for this project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought announcement. Responses must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety); and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size, scope and dollar amount (minimum 3). You are required to E-mail your responses to the Contracting Officer (Gregory Sabater) at Gregory.M.Sabater@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm EST on April 7, 2010, and in the subject line state Houston National Cemetery and your Company Name. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
