Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors for the following proposed project: A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate contractors for this proposed Design-Build project which meet the specific criteria for a competitive set-aside award. : Construct a Transient Training Barracks Complex to serve the needs of Reserve and National Guard troops on annual training and house the Rapid Deployment Component of the Division. The complex will consist of 122,232 sf of transient training barracks, one 11,237 sf Battalion Headquarters, 22,579 sf of officers quarters, a fenced hardstand, an 11,854 sf vehicle maintenance shop, a 16,765 sf dining facility, and a storage shed.Provide descriptions your firms past experience on projects with greater than 70% construction complete or those projects completed within the last 10 years which are similar to this project in size, scope, and dollar value. Projects considered similar in scope to this project include: single-story office buildings, multi-story lodging facilities,,dining facilities, pre-engineered maintenance shops and storage facilities.. Projects similar in size will include: 10,000 sf administration buildings, 20,000 sf lodging facilities, 10,000 maintenance shops and 15,000 sf dining facilities. Projects of similar dollar value will include: $2M $5M.Based on definitions above, for each project submitted include: current percentage of construction complete and the date when it was or will be completed. scope of the project. size of the project. dollar value of the project: the portion and percentage of work that was self performed, whether the project was design/build or not. All interested contractors should notify this office in writing by mail by April 07 2010, 2:00 PM Louisville local time. Responses should include: (1) Identification of the company as a Small Business and if applicable, the type of SBA program(s) (HubZone, 8(a), Small Disadvantaged Veteran-Owned Business, etc.) as appropriate. (2) past experience should describe completed renovation of an existing Army Reserve Training Building scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-performed work, how that was accomplished, demonstrate the ability to complete a project in one construction season without prolonged impact to airfield operations and the performance rating for the work. Similar projects are expected to consist of least 30,000 SF (3) capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for the project in the dollar range listed above, (4) a statement verifying the contractor will self-perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qualified/certified Small Businesses do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to a full and open competition.
