Description
This contract is for the installation of bat gates at abandoned mine portals on National Park Service (NPS) land in the New River National River near Glen Jean, Fayette County, WV. Work will consist of: mobilization and demobilization of the contractor's labor, equipment and materials; erosion/drainage control; site preparation; excavation; removal/disposal of existing gates; construction of concrete sills for gate bases; placement of wire mesh over stone and shale bedrock; covering fragmented rock and wire mesh with cement mixture; construction/installation of bat gates; and site restoration. Conveyance of construction material and equipment to sites may be accomplished using vehicles, helicopters, or other methods, subject to prior approval by the NPS Representative.This project will be administered through an Interagency Agreement between the NPS and the Office of Surface Mining, Pittsburgh, PA. Funds for this project were received by NPS under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). Treasury Account Symbol for this funding is 14 1041. Funding for the requirements described herein is limited to $209,750. The Recovery Act requires contractors to report on their use of Recovery Act funds. Contractors are required to register and report each calendar quarter on their use of Recovery Act funds using the centralized reporting tool at http://www.FederalReporting.gov. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be available to prospective bidders on or about April 5, 2010. The IFB will include the date, time and directions to the meeting place for the pre-bid meeting to be conducted on or about April 20, 2010. It is anticipated that bids will be opened on or about May 5, 2010 (an original hard copy bid will be due at the depository and on the date and time identified in the IFB. The IFB will be issued electronically available via www.fedconnect.gov or www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies may be requested by e-mailing rnavarro@osmre.gov.
