- QUESTIONS RECEIVED, with RESPONSE. QUESTION 1 The info states on page 3 of 3 under point B "Material Specifications" that "It (corrocote) is to be applied to both the outside and the inside of the pole?" I have been unable to find anyone that will corrocote on the inside of the pole. United Galvanizing (whom we normally use for galvanizing and corrocote) will do this, but only for poles with a base OD of 19" or more. None of these poles have a base OD large enough to corrocote the inside of the poles. United Galvanizing claims that no one can corrocote the inside the inside of small poles. I've checked with 2 other galvanizers and they confirmed that small poles cannot have corrocote inside. The questions are: Is it necessary to corrocoate inside the poles? RESPONSE: YES If so, have they ever received poles that were corrocoted on the inside? RESPONSE: YES If so, can they tell us who is able to do this so that we can get it done? RESPONSE: Valmont Coatings QUESTION 2 The info on Page 2 of 2 under point B "Material Specifications" states "the poles must be circular in cross section". By this, do they mean that the poles MUST BE round? RESPONSE: YES Or, can they be 12-sided and still meet this "circular in cross section" criteria? RESPONSE: NO
