Description
The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific is issuing this synopsis for prospective contractors to compete for an upcoming 5-year firm-fixed-price Requirements contract to perform Bus Security Attendant and Bus Safety Aide services for students, pre-kindergarten through grade 12 attending DoDEA Pacific Korea district schools whose geographical scope includes Daegu, Camp Humphreys, Camp Casey, Chinhae, Osan, and Seoul. The DoDEA Pacific Korea District operates approximately 90 school buses servicing 11 schools (projected for SY 10/11) during 183 regular school days beginning in August and 20 days (optionally) of extended school year days occurring primarily between the months of June and July of each calendar year. Prospective offerors should be aware that there are security considerations inherent in this requirement and that criminal background checks are required of all contractor employees who work in close proximity to the students. Contractor employees must be fluent in English and may be recruited from the military base communities in Korea. The period of performance shall be a base period of one (1) year, plus four option years thereafter, with a tentative contract start date of 1 August 2010. Proposals received will be evaluated using best value trade-off source selection procedures pursuant to FAR 15 -- award will be evaluated under "Best Value" practices. Solicitation issuance is tentatively scheduled on/or about March 19, 2010. Proposal due date is tentatively set for April 26, 2010 @ 4:00 pm, Japan Standard Time (JST). Interested firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be awarded any Federal Government contracts. Prospective contractors are responsible to visit the site periodically for any changes/updates to the solicitation that may occur.
