Description
1. The Defense Media Activity, Alexandria VA intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Grubb & Ellis Company, Transaction Services, 1825 Eye St., N.W., Suite 450, Washington, DC 20006, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsibility source will satisfy the agency's requirement. The Defense Media intends to acquire storage space to store electronic equipment, cabling and other items. This requirement is for one base year with an option for an additional three (3) months. This Notice of Intend is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by 2:00 PM EST, March 24, 2010 by e-mail to: Helen.hill@dma.mil 2. Defense Media Activity Headquarters (DMA-HQ) requires this space in order to accomplish their mission. The storage space needs to be fully demised and contiguous space that the agency can secure and access readily at a moment's notice to provide technical equipment to complete its daily or extemporaneous mission. The space that is presently used for storage is needed for expansion of office space. The mission of DMA is expanding, and requires an immediate need of additional office space. Where the electronic equipment is presently stored is the ideal location that can be used as office space and can be moved into without expensive alterations. 3. Requirement Description The DMA-HQ requires a minimum of 1600 sq-ft to maximum of 1700 sq-ft to store electronic equipment, cabling, and other items needed to support the Pentagon Channel operations. 4. Unique Requirements Offered space must be contiguous and be located on not more than two floors and preferably located on one floor near where daily operation of the command's mission is taking place. The space will have to be secured with doors and walls that are controlled by the Government. The space will be locked and no janitorial service will be required. The space will require heating and air conditioning be provided for the protection of equipment. The space will require ample supply of electrical outlets in order to provide charging of electronic equipment. The space should be equipped with a fire protection system to protect valuable electronic equipment. There will be no hazardous material stored in this space. There will be no equipment stored in this space that would affect load-bearing capacity of a facility. There will be no dedicated electrical circuits required for this storage space. 5. Period of Performance The period of performance will be for one year with an option for an additional three (3) months.
