- ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.5 to ENDEVCO CORPORATION, 30700 RANCHO VIEJO RD, SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA, 92675-1748. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures --- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Endevco Corporation is the only known source capable of meeting the Governments requirements due to the unique capability to provide accelerometers to rerun expensive field tests. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than Wednesday, 24 March 2010, 11:00 A.M., CDT. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely of determing whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to ellaine.r.james@usace.army.mil with solicitation number referenced in the subject line. The Sensors, Measurement, and Instrumentation, (SM&I) ITL has been tasked by GSL to provide acceleration measurement support to this ongoing research program - The Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization Hard Impact Program at Fort Polk, LA. During the course of these experiments, it will be required to record a range of acceleration data. In order to obtain this data, it is necessary to procure 200 G, 2KG, 6KG, and 20 KG accelerometers from Endevco. Historically, SM&I Branch has used high-G accelerometers from a variety of companies to support GSL'S research programs. One company that has provided consistent and reliable accelerometers is Endevco. Due to the reliability and accuracy of the Endevco accelerometers, the need to rerun expensive field tests has been reduced. As the result of using accelerometers from Endevco for over 25 years, all current instrumentations, software, and mounting hardware are configured to support these sensors.
