Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM) is conducting a market survey to help determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses and/or HUBZone small businesses capable of serving the needs identified below. Background The Extramural Programs (EP) Division of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) provides grants and fellowships to organizations and individuals interested in applying computers and telecommunication for improving storage, retrieval, access, and use of biomedical information. Task 1)Multi-Monitor VTC Setup: Vendor will wire (if required) the existing VTC for NLM/EP so that it displays video from a second VTC monitor output. This upgrade will give the end user the ability to route the "near end" to one screen and the "far end" to another. The Crestron panel will be upgraded to send the new source (VTC Monitor 2) to either of the (3) pre-existing wall mounted plasma displays. 2)Adobe Connect Integration: Vendor will implement an Adobe Connect interconnect for the existing large board room. The interconnect will work by utilizing the existing camera feed as an input to be processed by the Adobe Connect PC. The existing (4) room microphones will be used to deliver room audio to the "far end" during an Adobe Connect session. All data from the far end will be viewed through the room PC and can be displayed on either of the (4) room displays. A new radio frequency wireless keyboard and mouse (Both purchased from vendor) will be used to interface with the room PC. The wireless keyboard and mouse will be wired to the room PC and will give the end user the ability to control the rack PC. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 in accordance with the policies and procedures under FAR Part 13- Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The period of performance will be for six months from the date of the award. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which will be considered by the National Library of Medicine. This Sources Sought notice is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available. Interested firms responding to this sources sought notice must adhere to the following: (a) Provide a capability statement demonstrating relevant experience, skills and ability to fulfill the Government's requirements for the above. The capability statement should contain enough sufficient detail for the Government to make an informed decision regarding your capabilities; however, the statement should not exceed 10 pages. (b) The capability statement must identify the responder's small business type and size. (c) All capability statements must be submitted electronically no later than 1:00pm eastern standard time on March 26, 2010to Suet Vu vus@mail.nih.gov.
