Description
The Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or "VA"), located at 113 Holland Ave., Albany NY 12208, intends to release a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered VA-528-09-RA-0023, for a project entitled "Consolidated Labs 1 & 2 " The current intention of the VA is to procure these services competitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The VA intends to release this INVITATION FOR BID (IFB) (SEAL BIDDING) with competition restricted completely to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The applicable NAICS code will be 236220 "Commercial and Institutional Building Construction," with an applicable small business size standard of $14 Million. The estimated construction value of this project falls within the range of $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Bid, performance and payment bonding will be required to respond to this IFB once released. Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full IFB will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203. SYNOPSIZING: The intent of this project is to construct a new Mechanical Room and dedicated Air Handling Unit (AHU) in the Pathology & Laboratory's Chemistry Lab, BLDG 1 Second Floor B-Wing VAMC Albany NY. This project is Phase (1) of the Pathology & Laboratory's Renovation / Consolidation project The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, supplies and material necessary to construction a new mechanical room and install a dedicated AHU. Work includes but is not limited to: selected demolition of existing hard ceilings, electrical devices, and removal of VCT floor tiles. Install temporary (1-hr) rated construction barrier walls provide temporary electrical outlets for relocated VA equipment per contract drawings: Install non-load-bearing gypsum wall board (GWB) (2-hr) rated walls, air handling unit (AHU), supply & return ductwork, cold water, chilled water supply and return lines, interior lighting, sprinkler & fire alarm protection, concrete housekeeping pad, fluid flooring, new ceiling and interior finishes per contract drawings and specifications. The Contracting Officer will not be able to answer any questions to this notice until a the IFB is issued and only by Request for Information (RFI's)
