Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, National Geospatial Programs Office has a requirement for high resolution orthoimagery data in east Minnesota, including the Minneapolis - St. Paul metropolitan area. The total coverage for this project is approximately 7,150 square miles. USGS has the opportunity to obtain all this orthoimagery from the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office at 34% of the cost of the entire project because other agencies and local governments are contributing to this project. The orthoimagery data will be collected and processed to meet the requirements of the USGS and NGA Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HSIP). The data coverage will include, but is not limited to, the following Minnesota counties: Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright. The data shall be delivered in one copy on mutually agreeable media. The data delivery date is no later than December 31, 2010. All deliverable data and documentation shall be free from restrictions regarding use and distribution. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(2), the government considers the item specified as a sole source from the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office, 658 Cedar St 3rd Floor, Saint Paul, MN 55155-1603 and proposes to negotiate with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business March 26, 2010 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
