Description
On or about 31 March 2010, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Perry Creek Flood Protection Project, Upgrade Right Bank Flood Protection, Sta. C 37+94 C 90+ 20. The solicitation will close on or about 30 April 2010. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. There will be no formal site visit for this project. The site is open to the public and is available through public access. Contractors are encouraged to visit the site at any time during the bidding period. Contractors having questions concerning access to the site may contact Franklin Wagner, Sioux City Project Manager, City Hall Room 409, 405 6th Street, Sioux City, IA 51101, Phone Number 712-279-6324. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The project is located along Perry Creek in downtown Sioux City, Iowa. The work reach is between west 7th Street and west 19th Street. The work consists of raising an existing levee with approximately 7600 cubic yards of compacted embankment, raising existing floodwalls, construction of new floodwalls, construction of new concrete barrier rail, levee crest and ramp surfacing, placement of top soil and relocation of an existing pedestrian bridge. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Bidders (Offerors): Please be advised of on-line registration requirement in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx and directed solicitation provisions concerning electronic annual On-line Representations and Certifications (ORCA) at https://orca.bpn.gov. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
