- All interested parties are invited to participate in the Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Services (EMCS) Industry Day on 25 March, 2010. The United States Army Contracting Command, National Capital Region Contracting Center, on behalf of the U.S. Army, Program Executive Office, Enterprise Information Systems, is sponsoring the EMCS Industry Day. The purpose of the event is to (1) provide information regarding the role of the Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Services acquisition in the Army's Global Network Enterprise Construct (GNEC), (2) to provide additional information for the acquisition strategy and solicitation requirements, and (3) to respond to industry questions regarding the 5 March 2010 EMCS Draft RFP. The EMCS effort, as part of Army's GNEC, will centralize a select group of NIPRNet Microsoft Exchange email user accounts (approximately 250,000) and associated mobile solutions into a single, commercially-managed, enterprise-based environment. The Industry Day will be held at Fort Belvoir, Wood Theater (Bldg 2120), located at Fort Belvoir, VA 22060 on 25 March 2010 from 0900 to 1245. The current Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) is posted on FedBizOpps at https://www.fbo.gov/index?&s=opportunity&mode=form&id=1a34d2fc80e542d1afb4bbd94299c868&tab=core&tabmode=list and on Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/synopsis_attach_viewer.cfm?psolicitationnbr=W91QUZ-10-R-O013&pseqnbr=116388. Registration will be conducted at the Wood Theater on the day of the Industry Day briefing and will begin at 0830 EST, 25 March 2010. This is a no-fee event, seating is limited, and attendance is limited to three (3) persons per potential offeror. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to permit sufficient time for check-in. In the interest of expediency, it is requested that only serious, potential offerors attend. This announcement is for information only, does not constitute a request for proposal, is not a commitent of any kind on the part of the Government for a contract. The Army will not pay for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this announcement nor will the Army return any data provided.
