Description
General Information Document Type: Presolicitation Notice Solicitation Number: N00421-1300149102 Posted Date:March 16, 2010 Original Response Date: March 31, 2010 Archive DateApril 15, 2010 NAICS Code541330 Contracting Office Address Department of the Navy, Naval Air Weapons Center Aircraft Division, 2.5.1.2. Building 442, 21936 Bundy Rd., Patuxent River, MD 20670. Description The Naval Air Weapons Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to award a sole source Bridge extension to contract # N00421-05-D-0058 with Trandes Corporation, 4601 Presidents Drive, Suite 360, Lanham MD 20706 for on-site support of Navy Air Traffic Control, and Marine Corp. Range Control equipment. The contract bridge extension is for the maintenance of critical Safety of Flight Air Traffic Control systems, and for Range Monitoring systems providing critical safety at numerous Navy and Marine Corp. training areas. Without the maintenance services provided by this contract, the equipment would not be certified for operation, and the training areas would not be available for use. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A break in service for these maintenance services would result in severally degraded training capabilities for warfighters preparing for deployment to active warzones. The incumbent contractor (TRANDES) currently has fully trained personnel and a fully developed management system in place for execution the required work, resolicitation for the six month period would not only risk a break in service, but would incur excessive costs to the government. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. Numbered note 22 applies. Point of Contact Frank Douglass, Contract Specialist, Code 2.5.1.2.2.5. Telephone (301) 757-5937, or via e-mail: frank.douglass@navy.mil.
