Description
The Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center on behalf of PM IED Defeat/Protect Force is seeking sources for the acquisition of an overwatch guard tower for use at guard posts at a Forward Operating Base. The intent of the overwatch guard tower is to provide an overwatch capability to soldiers at Forward Operating Bases while maintaining an acceptable level of survivability. The Government desires an overwatch guard tower with the following characteristics: -7 to 12 meter height-Weather resistant-Provide user full 360 degree field of view-Constructed of reinforced concrete-Withstand indirect and direct blasts-Provide protection against small arms fire-Able to mount and fire small arms and crew served weapons from inside the tower Interested sources are requested to provide a capability statement to include company name, address, telephone number, point of contact, company size (please specify as either Large, Foreign, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business), item nomenclature, item description and applicable documentation. Respondents shall specifically provide/identify the following information: 1.Details of all ballistic and blast fragmentation protection & survivability specifications of the product/system being submitted.2.Detailed description of weather resistance.3.All test data available which verifies the specifications given in item 1 and 2 above.4.Detailed description of any US Army issued Safety Confirmations pertaining to the product/system being submitted.5.Detailed description of any US Army issued Capabilities and Limitation Report (C&LR) documentation pertaining to the product/system being submitted.6.Detailed description of the field of view provided to the soldiers manning the product/system being submitted.7.All weapons interface specifications provided by the system being submitted (i.e. gun mounts, ability to fire from within the tower, etc)8.Detailed description of storage capabilities and soldier berthing capabilities (i.e. can the tower provide storage for soldier gear, berthing for soldiers not on watch, etc) provided by the system being submitted.9.Identify any Material Handling Equipment (MHE), tools and site preparation required for installation.10.Address their ability to transport the tower to and install in OCONUS locations, to include current theaters of operation. In addition, interested firms must provide a written description of its most recent contracts which are in any way similar to the effort delineated herein. The description shall include company or Government contracting activity with a point of contact and phone number. If no information is provided for any of the items above, it is understood that no information exists. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
