- Description
- The Navy requires research and development (R&D) support of the ongoing technical evolution of the sonobuoy program. These efforts inlcude feasiblity studies, technical analyses, engineering investigations, sonobuoy-related R&D testing equipment, R&D sonobuoy hardware repairs, R&D testing equipment, prototype fabrications and tests, and sea/land test support. This procurement will be issued on a sole source basis to Sparton Electronics, 5620 Johnson Lake Road, DeLeon Springs, FL. Sparton Electronics has unique sonobuoy configurations that meet the Production Sonobuoy Specification and are utilized by the Government. As such, only Sparton possess the required knowledge and expertise regarding its particular design and manufacturing processes to successfully modify its sonobuoy configurations and perform the requirement. The authority for limiting the sources is FAR 6.302-1. See Numbered Note 22.
