Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Fayetteville, North Carolina located at 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 has a need for Regulated Medical Waste Services.Contractor shall provide containers to fit soiled utility rooms. Size of containers cannot exceed 49 length, 30 width, 33 height, empty weight 91 lbs., and capacity 18.7 cubic feet. Containers must be seamless, leak-proof with a hinged lockable lid, and must have casters for easy mobility. All of the containers will have a biohazard labeling to clearly identify them as Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) carts only. Contractor will allocate a minimum of 15 carts for the VA Medical Centers RMW system. Contractor must provide containers that meet guidelines for collecting medical waste. The contractor will provide a refrigerated trailer or appropriate container that meets North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and NCDOT guidelines to store the RMW containers until they are picked up for disposal. A refrigerated trailer or an appropriate container must be on-site at all times. The contractor must provide a means for VAMC personnel to load mobile carts filled with medical waste into the trailer or container. The items must meet all federal, state, OSHA and DOT standards for collection, storage and transport of medical waste. This requirement is 100% Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code is 562211. Size Standard is $12.5 Million. Contract period will be April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011 with four (4) one year renewable option years. The procurement will be conducted utilizing the commercial item procedures of FAR 12 in conjunction with FAR 13. Solicitation packages will be available on or about March 17, 2010. Proposals will be due on or about March 25, 2010. No hard copy solicitations will be provided. Solicitation documents may be obtained electronically at www.fedbizopps.gov.
