Description
Synopsis THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of Veteran Affairs Hartford Regional Office intends to award a sole source procurement under Public law 109-461 to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. In accordance with the requirements contained in FAR Part 5 and under the authority of 38 USC 8127(b) and VAAR 819.7007. This constitutes the only announcement; and a written solicitation will not be issued. Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA), Veterans Benefits Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Service (VR&E) for the Hartford Regional Office has a requirement under the independent living program to provide home modifications by removing barriers to a veterans daily living. The VR&E Service requirement is as follows: Construction project (Chapter 31). The Contractor will provide kitchen renovations for a veterans home in Marlborough, CT to remove barriers to the veterans daily living. The work to the home will include replacement of windows and doors in the kitchen area. Plumbing and electrical work to be completed to allow for appliance installation and ease of kitchen use. Install insulation, sheet rock, trim, kitchen cabinets, flooring, counter tops, range hood with vent, plumbing, and electrical fixtures. Upgrade the home's heating system. The VA intends to award one construction contract for the above-mentioned construction project. The contract will be a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance for the awarded contract will be fifty-six (56) days, with an estimated start date of April 1, 2010. The magnitude of this construction project will be between $25,000 and $100,000. This information is provided per VAAR 836.204 THIS REQUIREMENT IS SOLE SOURCE FOR A SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED CONCERN. Award will be made on a sole source basis to Brocorr, LLC. a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), in accordance with VAAR 819.7007. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236118 and the size standard is $33.5 million. The Classification Code is Y. Telephonic inquires will not be accepted.
