- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a contract to Kevlin Corporation, Methuen, MA, for 45 each modification kits, 17001-250, for the repair/upgrade of the ARSRk-4 rotary couplers, model 17000-1, along with 5 slip ring assemblies, 17000-100P1 for the. This is a firm-fixed price contract. Kevlin Corporation is the OEM and holds the proprietary rights to the technical documentation, processes, and procedures. The FAA does not have the specifications or drawings. A market survey was posted on the FAA's Contract Opportunities web site on October 9, 2008, with a October 22, 2008, closing date, requesting responses from qualified vendors. No responses were received. Further, an announcement of the FAA's intent to solicit only with Kevlin Corporation was posted on the FAA Contract Opportunities web site on February 3, 2009. No responses were received.
