- Description: The Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center, Walla Walla, WA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement in accordance with FAR Part 13 with Nuance Communications, Inc., 1 Wayside Road, Burlington, MA 01803-4609. This procurement is for preventive maintenance and software support for the Powerscribe Voice Recognition System. The software is proprietary and interfaces with the current VA computer system. Support services must be provided by Nuance-certified technicians. Support may be provided via VPN access, help desk or by having a technician on site as the situation may warrant. The resulting contract will be for base and two (2) option years. Option years are exercised at the sole discretion of the government. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received within 10 calendar days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
