- RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): Lightning Packs, LLC under Contract Number N0001408C0279, P00004 for "Harvesting Electric Power from Walking" project. The Office of Naval Research has issued a modification using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to incrementally fund Option I (CLIN 0002) TO CONTRACT N0001408C0279. This option work seeks to reduce the weight of the electricity-generating backpack and reduce noise generated by the backpack during electricity generation. The modification provides $371,332 of funding, but only $225,000 of that amount is ARRA funds. This contract action was not awarded as a fixed price contract because uncertainties involved in contract performance did not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. As such, a cost-reimbursement type action was awarded (FAR 16.301-2).
