Synopsis:This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. Please note that this is not a request for Quote (RFQ) or proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. No solicitation document is available and no other information pertaining to project scope, etc. is available at this time. Any request for assistance with submission or other procedural matters shall be submitted via email only. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Sonny S. Earls VA Medical Center, Saginaw, MI. is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), that are capable of meeting the following requirements. Statement of Work VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne and Marion Project Number: 610-10-132 Project Name: Asbestos Abatement VPIH Services for Related Project Professional/Certified Industrial Hygienist acting on behalf of the Department of Veterans ffairs (VPIH/CIP) shall provide monitoring, inspection, testing, and other support services identified in the specifications for the abatement of asbestos at VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne and Marion, Indiana campuses. Work includes VPIH/CIP services for four separate projects involving various forms and quantities of asbestos abatement as indicated in the specifications. The asbestos abatement specifications outline specific tasks that the VPIH/CIP shall perform. The four projects and approximate quantities are: 1.Asbestos Abatement Various Buildings, Marion a.Glovebag: i.Pipe insulation (including pipe joints): 2000 linear feet, various locations/buildings ii.Electrical box lining: 3 square feet b.Flooring and mastic: 1550 square feet, various locations/buildings 2.Asbestos Abatement, Selected Locations, Fort Wayne a.Glovebag: Pipe insulation (including pipe joints): 400 linear feet, various locations/buildings b.Flooring and mastic: 1100 square feet 3.Expand Lab Building 1, Fort Wayne (abatement is only a portion of this project) a.Glovebag: Pipe insulation (including pipe joints): 700 linear feet b.Flooring and mastic: 1350 square feet 4.Improvements to Radiology Suite Building 1, Second Floor, Fort Wayne (abatement is only a portion of this project and all abatement is to be completed during non-administrative hours) a.Traditional: i.Pipe insulation (including pipe joints): 100 linear feet ii.Plaster ceiling: 225 square feet Working hours will not be limited to administrative hours as select VA services are to maintain daily operation. Administrative hours are considered 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Two or more of the above listed projects may occur concurrently. Duration of the resulting contract award will be 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 541690, small business size standard of $7.0M in average annual receipts. Qualified small business firms (service disabled veteran owned businesses, veteran owned businesses, HubZone firms, Woman Owned, and 8a firms) are encouraged to respond. The response to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed two (2) pages. Company name, DUNS number, social economic category (small business, SDVOSB, etc), address, point of contact, telephone number, fax number, and email address. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments. Attachments must be provided in either Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Responses must be received by 4:00 PM EST on March 29, 2010 via email or fax to the Contracting Specialist at sonny.earls@va.gov, FAX (989)321-4957. PLEASE REFERENCE "SOURCES SOUGHT: ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PROJECT" IN THE SUBJECT LINE. Respondents will not be contacted regarding their submission or information gathered as a result of this Sources Sought notice. The formal solicitation will be issued at a later date by a separate announcement. Interested firms will be required to respond to additional announcements separately from this announcement without further notice from the Government when posted to http://www.fbo.gov. The 'estimated' award date of the contract is JUNE 2010.
