- Militry Sealift Fleet Support Command, Ship Support Unit Guam intends to award a contract on a non-competitive basis (sole source) to Guam Industrial Services Inc. (DBA Guam Shipyard) for Regular Overhaul (ROH) for USNS RICHARD E. BYRD (T-AKE 4) Solicitation Number N40446-10-R-0002. The period of performance for USNS RICHARD E. BYRD is to begin 17 August 2010and end 27 September 2010. Major work items for USNS RICHARD E. BYRD include: (1) Main Switchboard and HV Load Center Cleaning and Inspection; (2) LT FW Cooler Saltwater Piping Mods; (3) MSD Pump Relocation; (4) MAG Sprinkling Check Valve Internals Removal; (5) Fire Charging Pump Installation; (6) Calcium Carbonate Dosing System Install; (7) Stern Tube Flushing Modification; (8) Cargo Hold 3 Remediation Support; (9) Cargo Hold 3 Air Cooler and Structual Mods; Polmeric Deck Covering Installation; (10) Underwater Hull Cleaning, Propeller Polishing and U/W Hull Inspection/Video; (11) Anchors and Anchor Chain Preservation; (12) Flight Deck and Hangr Bay Non-skid Renewals; and 400 HZ Load Monitor Installation. These requirements are for MSRA shipyard. Only written (fax, email, or regular mail) requests will be accepted. The estimated issue date for this solicitation is 25 March 2010.
