- On or about March 19, 2010, the National Park Service (NPS), Midwest Regional Office Major Acquisition Buying Office (MWRO - MABO), intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) under solicitation number N6620100018, to award a single, firm-fixed price contract for the replacement of asphalt single roof on four(4) structures at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The solicitation closing date will be on or about April 5, 2010. Actual dates and times will be identified in the solicitation. Responses to this synopsis are not required. A Site Visit will be scheduled after the solicitation is issued. The official solicitation will be available free of charge by electronic posting only and may be found at www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. PAPER COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Amendments, if/when issued, will be posted to www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov for electronic downloading. This will be the only method of distributing amendments prior to closing; therefore, it is the offerors responsibility to check the website periodically for any amendments to the solicitation. This project is being processed in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656. Accordingly, it is open to both small and large businesses. The NAICS code is 238160. The Small Business Size Standard is $14 million. Davis Bacon Wage Determinations will apply. The Scope of Work under this contract includes but is not limited to: 1.Removal and disposal of existing asphalt shingles and miscellaneous flashing.2. Selective replacement of deteriorated board roof sheathing.3. Installation of asphalt shingles and metal flashing.4. Installation of roof vent system.5. Selective replacement of deteriorated fascia.6.Install new metal flashing around brick chimney and dormers on one of the structures. Locations: Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Empire, MI. IAW FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Bonds will be required as follows: Payment and Performance bonds - 100% of the contract price. The source selection process will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 15, Source Selection Procedures, utilizing a Performance Price Trade Off process (PPT), whereas past performance is significantly more important than cost/price. The Government intends to award without discussions, but reserves the right to conduct discussion should it be deemed in the Government's best interest.
