Description
THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0347 on or about March 18, 2010, for the RECOVERY Long Lake Trail Boardwalk Deferred Maintenance project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after March 18, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. This project is comprised of work on the Long Lake Trail, Forest Trail No. 22574. The project will replace existing puncheon with new puncheon in the locations indicated on the Trail log. The Base Bid includes removal of puncheon step and run and replacing it with double-wide puncheon step and run. There is an Option Item that removes puncheon step and run and replaces it with new double-wide puncheon step and run on the remainder of the trail. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government estimate is between $100,000 and $250,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The project site is located on Wrangell Island, approximately 27 miles southeast of Wrangell, Alaska. The Long Lake Trail trailhead is accessible from the Wrangell Island road system. The trail is an estimated 0.63 miles long. It begins at the Long Lake Recreation Site on Road 6271 and ends at the Long Lake Shelter adjacent to Long Lake. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total HUB-ZONE Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. All prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition.
