- THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0348 on or about March 18, 2010, for the RECOVERY North Wrangell Trail Boardwalk Deferred Maintenance project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after March 18, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. This project is comprised of work on the North Wrangell Trail, Forest Trail No. 22500. The project replaces damaged portions of puncheon with new puncheon in the locations indicated on the Work List. Puncheon step and run - 14” width, and puncheon step and run - 16” width, will be reconstructed and puncheon with decking will be constructed. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government estimate is between $25,000 and $100,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The project site is located on Wrangell Island, approximately 4 miles southeast of Wrangell, Alaska. The North Wrangell Trail is an estimated 4.4 miles long. It begins at milepost 1.7 of the Institute Creek Trail and ends at the trailhead parking area. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered.
