Description
EQUIPMENT LIST BACKGROUND: The Clinical Center (CC) is one of the 27 Institutes and Centers that compose the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the primary Federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research. The Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center was opened in 2005. The facility houses inpatient units, day hospitals and research labs and connects to the original Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center. Together, the Magnuson and Hatfield buildings form the NIH Clinical Center. The CC is the nation's largest hospital devoted entirely too clinical research. It is a national resource that makes it possible to rapidly translate scientific observations and laboratory discoveries into new approaches for diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease. Approximately 1,500 studies are in progress at the NIH Clinical Center. The 870,000-square-foot Hatfield building has 234 inpatient beds, 82 day-hospital stations, and clinical/ laboratory/ administrative space. The Materials Management Department (MMD) is responsible for assessments, trials, evaluations, acquisition, purchasing, inventory, storage and distribution of materials, supplies and equipment, management of medical equipment risks, and sterilization and decontamination services for medical surgical supplies. MMD also includes management of property, all of which is done in support of clinical research and patient safety. The MMD Office of the Chief is responsible to continually seek and utilize innovative business practices, methods, and technologies, which improve MMD’s performance to budget and price reasonableness. Aspects toward achieving this involves maintaining responsible stewardship over resources committed to MMD, focusing on continuous clinical and patient safety enhancement regarding operations, medical surgical supplies, and equipment and supporting staff. The National Institutes of Health, Material Management Department, Biomedical Engineering Section (Biomed) will require preventative maintenance on 40 icemaker units, 30 refrigeration units and 10 specimen refrigerator units that are located throughout the CRC. Also, MMD requires a service contract on the 40 icemakers, 30 refrigeration units and 10 specimen refrigerators. CONTACTOR ELIGIBILITY: The contractor must be an: 1. Authorized Service Dealer for Follett Corporation to service and repair ice makers and refrigerators that are still under Follett warranty. 2. The contractor must be factory trained and Certified by Follett to provide preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment repairs on Follett equipment. 3. The contractor must be listed on www.folletteice.com service website as an authorized service agent for 20892 areas. 4. The contractor must be a primary service agent for geographic area 20892 5. The contractor must provide verification of this. 6. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, test instruments, etc. required to perform preventive maintenance. All materials to be replaced shall be furnished by the contractor. All maintenance parts shall be OEM parts. 7. The contractor must be able to provide on-site technical services for 24 hours, 7 days a week for 365 days in the year. 8. As needed and with-in the scope of this agreement, the contractor must be able to do all repairs, electrical, and plumbing work associated with ice maker, freezer and refrigerator repair, removal, replacement or installation of equipment listed in (Attachment A.). 9. The contractor must protect adjacent structures, equipment, vehicles and vegetation. The contractor must ensure the worksite is properly cleaned up when work is complete. 10 The contractor must dispose of all residues off site in strict accordance with all applicable Federal, State and Local regulations. 11.Contractor must have a valid driver’s license and will be required to pass a security background check whenever entering the NIH facility. 12. Report all discrepancies noted, that are not within the scope of this agreement, along with estimated repair cost to BIOMED. The repair or replacement of components not within the scope of this agreement, which will result in additional cost, shall not be accomplished until approved by BIOMED. Preventative Maintenance: 1. Preventative Maintenance on 40 icemaker Units (2 times per year). 2. Preventative Maintenance on 30 refrigeration units (1 time per year). 3. Preventative Maintenance on 10 Specimen refrigerators (1 time per year). The preventative maintenance will include inspection and cleaning on all equipment as listed (see Attachment A) Service/Repair of Units. 1. Service on all refrigeration and icemaker units as needed (40 icemaker, and 30 refrigeration units and 10 specimen refrigerators units) -- Service will be performed between 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. -- 24 hours response time on all calls. -- The service will include removal/installation and all service as required on all units. -- Must be able to do all repairs, including all electrical and plumbing work that is associated with icemaker and refrigerator repair, removal and/or installation on units. All service will be done as needed. RATES The contractor must list regular service rates/hours, overtime service rates/hours and travel time rates, if applicable. Also include your cost for OEM replacement parts. Please include your rates in your quote as listed below. Regular rate$__________ per hour Time:________ to __________.
