Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to award on a sole source basis a Firm Fixed Price type contract to Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems for the TR-317D Transducer Enhanced Performance Ceramic Study. Period of performance is 180 days from receipt of award. Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems is currently the only qualified source for TR-317D transducers. The ceramic study requires the use of TR-317D subassemblies that reside at the Ultra facility and Ultra's critical processes are proprietary. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.Additional details will be provided upon issue of RFQ N66604-10-Q-2111, which, in accordance with FAR 5.203(a) & (h), is anticipated to be released on or about 03/09/2010. Solicitation is unrestricted, NAICS code is 334511, size standard is 750 employees. Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating of DO-C9 applies.
