- Description
- This project is located on the Mi Wuk Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. Work consists of the site design and construction of two barracks facilities at the Long Barn Fire Station. Work shall include the construction of the barracks, the access road and parking, all associated site work and utilities, A.D.A. accessibility, septic tank and leach field system, and the pavement rehabilitation of the existing fire station parking lot and entry road. This is a modified design-build opportunity in that the government shall furnish the building plans and specifications. This modified Design-Build process will have two distinct phases. Phase 1 will be the pre-qualification process, where the Government will select up to three contractors on the basis of their qualifications and preliminary proposal(s). Only the selected contractors will then qualify for the Phase 2 process. In Phase 2 of the procurement procedure, Offerors will be given the opportunity to offer their preliminary design and/or technical approach and cost proposals. Final selection and basis for award of the modified Design-Build contract will be qualifications, past experience, technical quality, price, and other salient factors considered to be the best value to the Government. The best value approach provides the opportunity to select an offeror who is not necessarily the lowest priced or the highest technically-ranked. If awarded the contract, the Offeror shall provide and complete all necessary and required design and contraction documents, and complete construction in compliance with these requirements. The estimated start date is 06/15/2010. The project Government estimate is between $1,000.000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Project Site: The Long Barn Fire Station is on Long Barn Road just off of State Highway 108 (approximately 20 miles east of Sonora, CA on State Highway 108). The solicitation with supporting documents (if any) will be posted to the FedBizOpps website on or about March 22. No hard copies of the solicitation, supporting documents and applicable amendments, if any, will be provided. Note: The FBO Response date is an estimated date. The close date referenced on solicitation will take precedence.
