- Pre-Solicitation Synopsis forRecovery, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) For NASA Stennis Space Center The NASA, John C. Stennis Space Center is hereby soliciting information about potentialsources for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). NASA/Stennis is contemplating awarding amultiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a minimalquantity of two (2) and a maximum quantity of twenty (20). Contract length is expectedto be 2 years beginning in 2010.The contractor shall provide an Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, 755 drive, Drive Part #20G11ND302AN0NNNNN. All offerors have the option to provide equal items that representthe same salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics of the brand nameitems in accordance with the FAR clause 52.211-6. Offerors submitting equal items shallinclude with their proposal all pertinent characteristics information that will qualifythe equal items as acceptable for award.This synopsis should not be construed as a formal request for proposals but, rather apre-solicitation synopsis requesting information under the authority of FAR 15.201. Responses to this request for information are not offers and cannot be accepted by NASAto form a binding contract. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by theGovernment, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited.The NAICS codefor this work is 333911 and the size standard is 500 employees. NASA desires that those companies expressing an interest in the aforementioned synopsisprovide a written Statement of Capability (SOC) that addresses high-level alternatives;general, market-based approaches; experience in this area; knowledge of the workinvolved; and professional and manufacturing resources. The SOC should also containdelivery lead times for components. The SOC shall not include any confidential businessor financial information relating to specific companies. Please state your business sizein accordance to the above NAICS code. All prospective companies are reminded to direct their written electronic correspondenceto the attention of: Marvin L.
