- The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Region Seven (7), Alaska, intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price procurement to Teton Welding and Manufacturing. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Region Seven (7), Alaska requires the purchase of three (3) aluminum collapsible culvert traps specialized with a patented latch to prevent the door from dropping on cubs during entry. Work description: William B. Leacok of Teton Welding and Manufacturing has created, manufactured and patented a latching mechanism for doors on an aluminum collapsible cluvert trap for polar and brown bears. The trap is described as follows: The entire trap will be fastened together with cam-locks. The six individual segments will be approximately 5 feet long by 48 inches wide. The ends will be framed approximately 54 inches square. Assembly hardware will be permanently attached to the larger components. The door's A-frame will fold down flat to the culvert. One barred opening with a darting port will be built into each end and two ports will be built into each side. The total weight will be approximately 400 lbs. The culvert trap will be approximately 48 inches in diameter by 10 feet long. A patented latch to prevent the door from dropping on cubs will be included. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and the Government does not intend to accept proposals received. See numbered note 22.
