Description
RECOVERY – Audit of the Department of State Tools to Guard Against and Track Cyber Attacks Funded by the Recovery Act. THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA) PROCUREMENT In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act of 2009, Pub.L. 111-5. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY, IAW FAR 5.704, PUBLICIZING - PREAWARD. THE GOVERNMENT POSTS THIS NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE AN INDEFINITE DELIVERY/INDEFINITE QUANTITY, LABOR HOUR TASK ORDER UNDER THE EXISTING DEPARTMENT OF STATE PROFESSIONAL AUDIT AND ACCOUNTING SERVICES CONTRACT: LEONARD G. BIRNBAUM. THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION IS AS FOLLOWS: The overall objective is to evaluate Department plans, risk assessment of information assets, and justifications to fund technical initiatives to strengthen the Department's infrastructure network to better protect information on U.S. citizens and national security. A secure and modern information technology (IT) infrastructure is essential to the execution of those duties. To meet that critical target, this program will produce a more secure network infrastructure that enhances the protection of IT assets for the Department and its partners in the U.S. foreign affairs community. This initiative will also protect the personally identifying information of U.S. citizens receiving services from the Department. By implementing a state-of-the-art secure IT infrastructure, the Department will both enhance its ability to execute its diplomatic mission and serve the U.S. public, as well as to strengthen its infrastructure from cyber security threats; thereby better protecting information on U.S. citizens as well as national security information that is stored on the Department’s network infrastructure. The period of performance for this project is for six months starting from the date of award of this task order.
