- The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Perkinelmer LAS, Inc, 710 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484-4797 for maintenance support services for ATF's Fire Research Laboratory (FRL) Clarus 500 Mass Spectometer and Clarus Gas Chromatograph located in Amendale, MD. Perkinelmer is the sole manufacturer and service provider of the equipment. Warranty coverage requires that the equipment be serviced and maintained by the manufacturer. In support of ATF's FRL this equipment is utilized in case studies to conduct scientific analysis of samples for use as evidence in court cases retrieved from suspicious fires and bombings. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. Any award resulting from this requirement will be issued pursuant to FAR Part12, Acquisition of Commercial Items-FAC 2005-38 effective December 1, 2009. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. If you feel that your firm possesses the ability to provide this service, at the designated locations, interested parties may submit technical literature showing their capability of meeting the Governments requirement by March 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM EST.
