- Solicitation Removal and Replacement of Switchgear Eielson AFB, AK 99702 The work consists of the contractor furnishing all engineering, labor, equipment, and materials to perform the work required, in strict accordance with specifications and applicable drawings. The following is a summary of work: The removal and replacement of 480V switchgear 1A and 1B at the Eielson AFB Power Plant. Each switchgear lineup consists of a 7200V knife blade switch, a 7200V-408V transformer and a distribution center. Phasing of the project during construction will require close coordination with the power plant personnel, and contractor providing temporary sources of power. Since there are many scenarios of plant operation needs, phasing the transition of the power feeders from the existing to the new switchgear replacement is an integral part of the work to maintain the operational needs of the CHPP. A load study and a short-circuit/coordination study/arc flash hazard analysis are required. Requirements include final connections of associated equipment and ancillary work. Operation, maintenance and arc flash safety training are required. The resultant contract will be firm fixed price. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 238210 with a size standard of $14 million. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This acquisition is being solicited IAW FAR 19.5, Set Aside for Small Business.
